SNAP Heartworm Antigen Test
This antigen test has three possible “spots” that will turn blue upon addition of blood, plasma, or serum to the “well” to the right. The blue spot that is furthest to the right in this picture is the positive control. If it doesn’t turn blue, something is wrong with the test or testing methodology. The blue spot to the left of the positive control and toward the bottom lights up whenever there is a significant concentration of heartworm antigen present. The blue spot directly above this spot only turns blue when the antigen concentration is high.
