Case 12 — M-Mode Echocardiogram

M-mode echocardiogram showing a markedly enlarged RV chamber with thickened RVFW. The LV chamber is small (~2 cm maximum diameter, ~5 ml volume). The IVS is flat in diastole then makes an abrupt motion toward the RV in early systole as the LV becomes round. End-systolic diameter approaches zero (end-systolic cavity obliteration).
M-mode. The RV is markedly enlarged with thickened RVFW. The LV is small (~2 cm, ~5 ml). The IVS is flat in diastole, then snaps toward the RV in early systole. End-systolic cavity obliteration as the LV tries to squeeze out every last drop.
